Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre

Established by the Dubai Government in 2006, Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC)  is part of a strategic initiative to inspire scientific innovation, technological advancement and to advance sustainable development in Dubai and the UAE. MBRSC is made up of a core team of UAE scientists and experts who are working to position the nation as a global leader in the field of science and technology through the development of new expertise and Intellectual Property.

The MBRSC mission is further bolstered by its Knowledge Transfer programme. It is creating the research and development facilities at its headquarters Dubai to enable its team to achieve the institution's goals independently of external input, building a sustainable knowledge economy that will help to drive the UAE forward over the coming years.

MBRSC has had some notable milestones in its quest for scientific excellence: notably the launch and placing into orbit of Dubai Sat 1 in 2009, and the launch of Dubai Sat 2 in 2013.
