All terminals of Dubai International airport are equipped to deal with incidents and emergencies. The Dubai Police force is responsible for ensuring that all passengers and their baggage are thoroughly screened at various security checkpoints, both during arrival and departure. Airport police are also there to assist passengers with lost and found requests, reports of theft, and any airport-related problems passengers may encounter. You will see uniformed police officers throughout the airport.
If you lost an item at the airport, you have up to three months to claim it from the 'Lost & found' section. You need to either visit this section personally or send a representative with a standard authorization letter explaining the circumstances & copies of your identity; for the item to be returned to you or your representative. In case you cannot go personally or send a representative, then you can fill up the online form 'Report a lost item at Dubai Airport'; following which Dubai Airport authorities will be in touch with you.
